6 Days Rwanda Primates Tour.
Our 6 Days Rwanda Primates Tour will give you a chance to travel to different national parks such as Nyungwe, and Volcanoes national park. You will also get an opportunity to do a double gorilla trekking with different gorilla families, you will also do activities such as gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking and a canopy walk.
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park.
On the first day of 6 days Rwanda Primates Tour, you will be picked up from your hotel in Kigali and embark on a transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park with lunch en-route, arriving late afternoon.
Check in at Nyungwe forest lodge and enjoy the evening at leisure, dinner and stay overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking & Canopy Walk.
Enjoy breakfast on day 2 of 6 Days Rwanda Primates Tour and go for briefing before entering the forest, searching for active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest. Chimpanzees are the easiest to spot, as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimp tracking usually takes about 3 hours. You will then return to your accommodation for lunch.
After lunch, you will go on a walking trail that will take you to the Canopy Walk at Uwinka; a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees.
You will be able to see the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you. Before nightfall, you will return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe forest lodge as above.
Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
You will enjoy breakfast at sunrise and embark on your journey to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze with lunch en-route and occasional stoppages for sightseeing along the journey.
Arrive Musanze late afternoon and enjoy the evening at leisure as you prepare for your next day’s adventure. Dinner and overnight stay at Muhabura lodge.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking Rwanda
Wake up to an early morning breakfast, pick your lunch pack and water and drive to the park headquarters at Kiningi for briefing and later drive to the starting point where you will embark on a trek to the Gorillas.
This lasts between 2 and 6 hours depending on the movement of the Gorillas. After the trek, you will receive your certificates, meet up with your driver / guide and return to the lodge.
Enjoy dinner and stay overnight at Muhabura lodge.
Day 5: 2nd Gorilla trek in Rwanda
Day 5 of 6 Days Rwanda Primates Tour, breakfast will be served early and lunch will be packed. The briefing is at 7 am. Your guide will give you highlights of specific details about the way of life of the gorillas you will be tracking. The hike can take anything from one to seven hours.
Trekking through the steep, bamboo slopes and then finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation is an inspiring and privileged moment. Once you reach the gorillas, you are allowed to spend one hour with them as you stand 6 meters away.
Upon completion of this magical encounter, you will drive you back to the lodge where you can relax in the afternoon or go for another walk to visit one of the communities around. Dinner and overnight stay at Muhabura lodge.
Day 6: Transfer to Kigali & Departure.
Have breakfast at leisure and depart Musanze heading to Kigali.
Enjoy stunning scenic views and landscapes of Rwanda countryside before reaching Kigali city in the afternoon. You will make a final tour of the city to buy African art craft souvenir items and get the last of your Rwanda tour.
The driver will then transfer you to Kigali International airport in time for your outbound flight, this will mark the end of 6 Days Rwanda Primates Tour.
